About Rachel

“I’ve been a music teacher since 1996 and have loved helping students of all ages grow their confidence and skills. My lessons are friendly, flexible and totally personalised. I believe in celebrating progress and encouraging students to enjoy their musical journey, wherever it leads!”

As well as teaching privately, Rachel was Head of Junior Music at Exeter School in Devon for many years. 

She holds a BA (Hons), LTCL (Piano Performance), DipMus, PGCE (Music), and QTS. 

She’s also an active performer:

• Music Director of two local community choirs and a chamber choir
• Freelance pianist 
• Chamber choir singer
• Violinist with the Sherborne Community Orchestra

All lessons are taught in Rachel’s dedicated home studio in Allowenshay, a peaceful, creative space to learn and grow. In some cases, home visits can be arranged. Rachel holds an up-to-date DBS certificate.
